September WC Chair’s Letter

We have less than three months to go for the November elections and we are gearing up for a busy season of voter registration, education, and resistance!.

However, it’s always nice to take a break and we want to thank all of those who were able to make it to our August Social at Flat Iron Square. Everyone enjoyed chatting with each other, getting to know new members, and of course, our fun and competitive WC Pub Quiz. And we would be remiss if we forgot to mention how busy September has been! Our postcard social and the DAUK Blue Wave Bootcamp were huge successes, and it was awesome meeting new faces and energizing the audience with our presentation on this Year of the Woman and educational session on articulating our motivations for voting For Democrats.

With that, let’s keep surfing the Blue Wave with this month’s theme, Women Who Run Part 2. If you are interested in learning about women running for office and in women’s issues issues, we urge you to educate yourself about the women running for office, and support them in any way you can – donate your time, vote, endorse on social media, have 1-to-1 conversations with people in your sphere of influence.

To learn more about women Democratic candidates, we invite you to check out this amazing spreadsheet on close races developed by DA Germany member Charlotte Milstein: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bf67AqKn3acJ7c-YAG_9Sv0fzhuAu1CEHwmhGNmkc50/edit#gid=0.

We look forward to seeing you and discussing women rocking the midterms at the upcoming meeting on Sept 17 at 7pm at Airspace on Oxford St!
